Parents are unfortunately not in a position to provide the quality and quantity of supplies needed. Simply put, the lack of school supplies negatively affects the quality of education that children receive.
Develop Africa is responding to this issue by acquiring, shipping and distributing school supplies to children in African schools. Their program provides children with a wide range of supplies—including rulers, erasers, pencils, notebooks, and backpacks. With the provision of these supplies, the financial burden is lifted from the shoulders of the parents. Children have been shown to participate more actively and comprehend material better since the implementation of this program. Providing basic school supplies is a small but crucial step in the advancement of Sierra Leone.
